For over 50 years, Alfred Richard designed a selection of quality tools. After five decades, A. Richard consented to sell his business to the Panfili and Gregoire families. These households were excited to carry on a business model that was family-run. The A. Richard Company moved to Berthierville in 1942.



In 1997, a third-generation of the Panfili and Gregoire groups took the corporation over from their elders. A. Richard joined Hyde Tools, Inc. in 2003 after retaining more than 85% of the Canadian hand tool industry.

By 2006, A. Richard took control of a roller and paintbrush distributor and producer called Roultech. The expansion and marketing experience of A. Richard blended well with the competence offered by Roultech to cultivate a winning strategy for the applicator market.
In 2006, A. Richard broadened by taking over a roller and paint brush manufacturer and distributor called Roultech. This was an attractive venture as both companies brought expertise in production and marketing to guarantee the paint application sector.
